In a response to the new Z Proto hype, Nissan has been unveiling Z-ified version of their classic Pike Factory cars. Powered by a twin turbo VQ series engine mounted transversely, this bold van “coupe” represents an interesting direction for the company and possibly hints at a production model to be unveiled later this year.

Honestly even though it’s being mocked Nissan must be pretty thrilled to have generated such interested in a car that appears to be a warmed over version of what they’ve been selling forever.

I love that they've brought it back with fresh styling that doesn't feel like a direct riff in something else. It doesn't. FEEL like yet another 350z and that's a good thing.
